HTC One X | HTC ONE X VS. GALAXY S3 |htc one x price in india

The HTC One X comes with a quad core processor, as does the Samsung Galaxy S3, and it was the first Android phone from HTC to do so. Both of the phones come pre-loaded with Android 4.0 ICS and the processors are very close. The One X comes with 1GB of RAM and the 1.5 GHz quad core, which puts it slightly in front of the S3 with its 1 GB of RAM and 1.4GHz quad core processor on paper. While it may appear that the HTC handset is the more powerful, what many don’t know is that in benchmark tests the Galaxy S3 actually came out on top due to the newer architecture of the chipset. In this case it seems that bigger is not always the better but for buyers looking at that white sheet next to the phone in stores, it appears so. Furthermore in the US, both the HTC One X and Samsung Galaxy S3 boast dual-core Snapdragon S4 processors.
Display wise the Samsung Galaxy S3 has a Super AMOLED screen of 4.8 inches at 1280 x 720 and 306 ppi, while the screen of the One X is a 4.7 inch Super IPS capacitive touchscreen. Both phones displays are covered with Gorilla Glass. When the displays were tested outside in direct sunlight the display of the HTC One X did seem to be the clearer of the two. The display on the S3 has seen some disparaging remarks due to it being Pentile.
Both of the phones cameras are matched with them both being 8 megapixels. The One X comes with autofocus, LED flash and 1080p video, along with having a 1.3 megapixel camera capable of video shooting at 720p. The Galaxy S3 camera comes with 3264 x 2448 pixels, geo-tagging, image stabilization, zero shutter lag and smile detection, along with autofocus. There is a 1.9 megapixel camera for video calls. HTC did market the camera on the handset heavily thanks to it having a custom image processing chip that rivals that of the iPhone 4S. Samsung have not pushed their camera as hard as its S-features and so people assume that it remains the same as the one on its predecessor (S2 had an 8MP camera too).
The HTC One X matches the S3 in almost every way on paper and it is also the easier of the two handsets to get hold of at the moment, anywhere in the world, the US included. At the moment Samsung are being plagued with shortages, along with what some consider being exorbitant prices worldwide (unlocked models and even the T-Mobile version). The design of the One X also looks of a  higher quality, as some say the glossy S3 has a cheaper plastic look to it. The One X also feels more high end when holding it in the hand.
The HTC One X can be purchased on AT&T and Sprint in the US, as the HTC EVO 4G LTE, with prices being in the range of $133 to $199, dependent upon which third party retailer you purchase the handset from. The S3 is available on AT&T, Sprint and Verizon, but is in short supply and T-Mobile have set a ridiculous price tag of $329, on contract, with a $50 mail in rebate which takes the price down to $279.
So while the Samsung Galaxy S3 has more hype behind it, if you walk into any store and compare both Android phones you will quickly see why the HTC One X still continues to seel so well.

Metro Aplication in Windows 8

How to print from a Metro app in Windows 8

Printing from a Windows 8 Metro app may throw you for a curve at first. But the process works fine once you get used to it.
For the Windows 8 Release Preview, Microsoft tweaked the way you print content, at least for Metro apps. Instead of choosing a print command from within the app itself, you print using the Charms bar. Selecting the Device charm provides access to your printer, among other devices. From there you can configure the various settings for your print job.
Here's how to print from a Metro app in Windows 8:
  1. Power up your printer.
  2. In Windows 8, open the Metro app from which you wish to print. For this example, we'll use Internet Explorer. Open the Metro version of Internet Explorer by clicking on its Start screen tile.
  3. Browse to any Web site that has a page you wish to print, such as CNET's site. Type cnet.com in the address field at the bottom of the browser screen. Click on a story that you wish to print.
  4. Hover your mouse in the lower right hot corner to trigger the Charms bar. Move your mouse up the bar and click on the Devices charm. Your printer and other devices should appear in a list. Click on the name of the printer that you wish to use.
  5. A Settings screen for your printer appears, from which you can change the number of copies, orientation, color mode, and other settings. Click on the More settings link for additional options, including paper size, type, and output tray.
  6. Click the Back button in front of your printer name to return to the previous screen. Click on the Print button to print the Web page.
On the downside, the new Metro printing process can involve more steps than the traditional printing method where you just click on the File menu and then select Print.
But on the upside, the new print setup works the same across all Metro apps, providing a sense of consistency.
Printing Desktop applications in Windows 8 works the same as it does in previous versions of Windows. So there is a disparity between printing from Desktop apps and printing from Metro apps. But the Metro printing process works cleanly and smoothly for all of your Metro apps.

Samsung Galaxy S2 - Accessories | Samsung Galaxy S2 Adapter,

In this post we'll explore some effective presentations techniques using Samsung Galaxy S2 accessories. Use the Droid@Screen (See this blog post) program to display the mobile phone screen on my computer during my presentations. This program works by taking a continues series of screenshots of the phone screen. There are some problems with this design, there is noticeable delay during application interaction and the video performance is not great on my Lenovo X120e Ubuntu computer.
You can not demonstrate audio and video capabilities of the mobile phone using such software. Planning to give a talk about using Firefox Mobile with Android 4 screen-reader and existing solutions doesn't work for me.

Samsung Galaxy S2 HDTV Adapter

This adapter allow you to plug in your phone directly into HDMI large displays and digital projectors. The mobile phone AC charger powers the adapter and no additional audio cable is needed. The Samsung HDMI adapters are available for Samsung Galaxy phones and tablet models.
This works really great if you are planning to setup large screen display in a exhibition booth. Connect the phone to large screen display with HDMI cable and play your video demo in a loop.

Samsung Galaxy S2 Power Pack

The Samsung Power Pack comes handy when phone runs out of battery in the middle of the presentation. It does extend the battery life of the phone during the presentation or an extending application testing session.
Few caveats using these accessories. The HDMI adapter will not work when the phone is attached to the power pack .
This power pack has some issue with power sensing, sometimes it starts and stops charging with annoying beeps every 10 seconds. And you need to press locking mechanism tight to get the phone to charge. Hope someone at Samsung fixes this problem.

What is SOPA ? | SOPA and PIPA postponed indefinitely after protests | Why Should You Fear SOPA and PIPA?

sopa pipa postponed
NEW YORK  -- When the entire Internet gets angry, Congress takes notice. Both the House and the Senate on Friday backed away from a pair of controversial anti-piracy bills, tossing them into limbo and throwing doubt on their future viability.
The Senate had been scheduled to hold a procedural vote next week on whether to take up the Protect IP Act (PIPA) -- a bill that once had widespread, bipartisan support. But on Friday, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said he was postponing the vote "in light of recent events."
Meanwhile, the House of Representatives said it is putting on hold its version of the bill, the Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA). The House will "postpone consideration of the legislation until there is wider agreement on a solution," House Judiciary Committee Chairman Lamar Smith said in a written statement.
The moves came after several lawmakers flipped their position on the bills in the wake of widespread online and offline protests against them.
Tech companies, who largely oppose the bills, mobilized their users this week to contact representatives and speak out against the legislation. Sites including Wikipedia and Reddit launched site blackouts on January 18, while protesters hit the streets in New York, San Francisco, Seattle and Washington, D.C. Google (GOOG, Fortune 500) drew more than 7 million signatures for an anti-SOPA and PIPA petition that it linked on its highly trafficked homepage.
The tide turned soon after the protest, and both bills lost some of their Congressional backers.
"I have heard from the critics and I take seriously their concerns," Smith said Friday in a prepared statement. "It is clear that we need to revisit the approach on how best to address the problem of foreign thieves."

Backed by media companies, including CNNMoney parent Time Warner, the bills initially seemed on the fast track to passage. PIPA was approved unanimously by a Senate committee in May.
But when the House took up its own version of the bill, SOPA, tech companies began lobbying heavily in opposition -- an effort that culminated in this week's demonstrations.

Reid hinted that PIPA may not be dead yet, saying: "There is no reason that the legitimate issues raised by many about this bill cannot be resolved."

Meanwhile, alternative legislation has also been proposed. A bipartisan group of senators introduced the Online Protection and Enforcement of Digital Trade Act (OPEN) on January 18 -- the same day as the Wikipedia site blackout.

Among other differences, OPEN offers more protection than SOPA would to sites accused of hosting pirated content. It also beefs up the enforcement process. It would allow digital rights holders to bring cases before the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC), an independent agency that handles trademark infringement and other trade disputes.

California Republican Darrell Issa introduced OPEN in the House, and Oregon Democrat Ron Wyden introduced the Senate version. OPEN's backers had posted the draft legislation online and invited the Web community to comment on and revise the proposal.

Soon after SOPA and PIPA were tabled, Issa released a statement cheering "supporters of the Internet" for their protest efforts.

He wrote: "Over the last two months, the intense popular effort to stop SOPA and PIPA has defeated an effort that once looked unstoppable but lacked a fundamental understanding of how Internet technologies work."
